Additional topics are always available…just ask! 2027 Creative Workshops Life In Pieces 3-4 hours/half day (no sewing machines required) Cutting fabric into tiny pieces and reconstructing them is what quilters do best. Learning to blend fabric patterns and colors into beautiful landscapes is as simple as assembling a puzzle. This workshop will use fusing techniques and a small amount of paint to bring your original 5 X 7 framed landscape to life. A $20 kit fee applies.

I Scream for Color! 5-6 hrs./full day (no sewing machines required) Explore the basic principles, moods, and properties of color. Playfully arrange 5-inch fabric squares into various color families, then use a color wheel to see how colors interact when placed next to one another. You’ll create a simple, original wall hanging design to serve as a reference and inspiration for future color selections. A $25 kit fee applies. Lay It On Me! 5-6 hrs./full day (no sewing machines required) A wonderful sequel to the I Scream for Color Workshop, this class takes a deeper look at color value and blended colors to create the illusion of a transparent overlay. We’ll discuss transparency, color saturation, contrast values and color progression as we transition between warm and cool colors. You’ll create a simple, original design to illustrate and reference our transparent discoveries in class. A $30 kit fee applies. Just A Little Barn Quilting! 3-4 hours/half day or 5-6 hours/full day This is the perfect introduction to the barn quilting trend sweeping the country – and it’s just enough to get you started on your next adventure. We’ll begin with a brief history of Barn Quilting, discuss drafting designs, and review the tools needed to complete a BQ. Soon after, we’ll get to taping and painting on a pre-primed 12”x12” board that has been pre-drafted with a quilt design chosen by each student from the designs provided. The class will be filled with tips and tricks to help limit color bleeding, maintain consistent taping techniques and prepare you to paint larger, more complex designs of your own. Everyone will go home with a completed or a nearly completed BQ, which may need additional drying time. The optional full-day workshop includes time for students to draft their own designs. (Note: Although we will be using exterior paint, these little BQs are recommend for interior use only or covered exterior spaces, if sealed.) A $45 kit fee applies and includes a pre-primed board, a basic color palette of paints, and foam brushes. Students will be responsible for a small supply list of items.
